Perspectives

The cobblestone path,
winds it’s way,
from truck garden,
to cow bespotted pasture.

The boy,
with walking stick in tow,
mounts his expedition up the path,
with fervent muster.

The tiny village,
grows even smaller,
as the path moves swiftly,
under short but hurried strides.

The mission of meaning,
brings the boy,
to the apex of his world,
in search of the unknowable.

From this vantage,
he is all-seeing,
and counts church steeples in the distance,
to determine if his village will be spared.
